To get APCI+ 0.7.1.0 or higher, you generally need to update the main Tech Tool application to at least version 2.8.150.

However, you do not need to hunt for that specific intermediate version. Since this thread provides Tech Tool 2.8.330, you should simply install that update.

Here is why:
  • Newer is better: Tech Tool 2.8.330 will install an APCI+ database that is much newer than 0.7.1.0 (likely version 0.9.x or higher).
  • Backward Compatibility: The newer APCI+ database includes all the vehicle data and parameters found in 0.7.1.0, plus support for newer trucks and bug fixes.

So, the guide is simple: Install the 2.8.330 update included in this kit. It will automatically upgrade your APCI+ to a version superior to 0.7.1.0.

Since I cannot see the attachment you are referring to, I have to assume the update process is frozen. An update should never take 4 hours unless you are on a very slow dial-up connection (which shouldn't apply for an Offline Kit).

The process has likely crashed in the background. Here is how to reset it:

1. Force Close the Update
Open Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc).
End the tasks for Client Update, Tech Tool, and any Java processes.

2. Clear the Update Cache
Navigate to this folder:

C:\ProgramData\Tech Tool\ClientUpdate
Delete all files and folders inside this directory.
Note: If you are performing an Offline Update, you will need to copy your update files back into this folder after clearing it.

3. Restart Services
Restart your computer. This is the cleanest way to ensure all locked files are released.

Run the Client Update tool again.

Often the installer waits for the service to stop/start, but it hangs.

  • Find Tech Tool Core and Tech Tool SIP.

One more tip: When you run the installer or the асtivа***, make sure to right-click and select Run as Administrator.

This ensures the program has the necessary permissions to write to the system registry and the

Good question. You can check without connecting to any vehicle.

Method 1: Check the APCI+ Database

After installation, open this folder:

C:\ProgramData\Tech Tool\APCI

Look for files or folders that reference Penta or Marine. If they exist, marine/Penta support is included in the database.

Method 2: Check Inside Tech Tool

  • Open Tech Tool and log in offline.
  • Go to Vehicle Selection or Product Selection.
  • Look at the dropdown list for product types. If you see options like Penta, Marine, or IPS, then it is supported.
  • If you only see Trucks, Buses, and Construction Equipment, then Penta is NOT included in this particular build.

Important Note:

Tech Tool versions are often split into different "profiles" or licenses:
  • VCADS Pro / Tech Tool (Trucks) — for FH, FM, FMX, VNL, etc.
  • Tech Tool (Penta) — specifically for Volvo Penta marine and industrial engines.
