not work on win11. 2547

Tech Tool is known to have compatibility issues with Windows 11, especially regarding the SQL Server instance and Java prerequisites. The most stable environment for this software is Windows 10 Professional x64.

If you are getting Error 2547 during the installation, it usually means a custom action in the MSI installer failed. This is often caused by missing dependencies.

Try the following before giving up on Win11:
  • Go to Control Panel > Programs and Features > Turn Windows features on or off.
  • Make sure .NET Framework 3.5 (includes .NET 2.0 and 3.0) is checked and installed.
  • Disable your antivirus/Defender temporarily during installation.
  • Run the setup file as Administrator.

If it still fails, I highly recommend using a clean Windows 10 installation.

Even with Windows 10 Professional x64, TT is really bad when it comes to consistency. I use it almost every day for work, and sometimes it works like a charm, but other times damn I have to restart my PC and go through all the usual fixes like 10 times.

But I do know that if Volvo has updated the machine and the customer uses a Volvo dealer after you’ve been on the machine they’re working on stopping piracy. The new machine updates will collect data about your TT and a lot more, and then it will disable it the next time you connect.

It’s only rumors here in Sweden, but I do know some small companies are complaining that after Swecon has been out and updated the machines, the next time they try to connect, it won’t work.

That rumor regarding Swecon and the machine updates is very plausible and aligns with what we are seeing with other OEMs (like CAT and JD).

The mechanism is usually twofold:

  1. Audit Logs: The V-ECU or Gateway stores a log of the "Tool ID" or "User ID" that connected to it. When the machine goes to the dealer and they connect with an official online tool, that log is uploaded to the Central Systems. If they see a known "cracked" User ID (since many offline kits share the same ID), they can flag the VIN.
  2. Security Seeds: The new updates likely раtсh the security vulnerabilities that the Devtool/APCI раtсh relies on. If they update the firmware on the machine, the old APCI database in your 2025 Offline kit might not have the correct parameters to handshake with the new firmware version.

As for the stability on Windows 10, it is often the background services failing to start in the correct order. I created a small batch script to force restart the services when TT hangs at the splash screen.

You can try saving this as restart_tt.bat and running as Admin when it gets stuck:

Code:
net stop "Volvo Tech Tool"
net stop "BaldoLocal"
net stop "MSSQL$VOLVOTT"
timeout /t 3
net start "MSSQL$VOLVOTT"
net start "BaldoLocal"
net start "Volvo Tech Tool"

It saves a reboot most of the time.

hi thanks for the program what is the password for the archive

Hello.

As mentioned earlier in the thread, please check the first post. Sometimes the password is attached there in a text file or listed in the description.

If it is not there, the standard procedure for this forum is:
  • Press the Thanks and Reputation (+Rate) buttons on the original uploader's post.
  • Send the uploader a Private Message (PM) to request the password.

Please check your inbox, as they may have already sent it if you followed the steps.

I've been searching and checking, but I can't find it. Please help me with the password.

I am not the uploader of this software, so I do not have the password to give you.

If you have already pressed the Thanks and Reputation buttons on the first post, you must:

  1. Click on the username of the person who started this thread.
  2. Select Send Private Message.
  3. Politely ask for the password and mention you have rated the post.

Please be patient. The uploader might be in a different time zone or busy with work. Posting repeatedly asking for the password is usually against forum rules and won't make them reply faster.

is that perform injector test

Yes, absolutely. Volvo Tech Tool is the primary software for that.

Depending on the engine model (D11, D13, D16, etc.), you will find these specific tests under the Test tab in the navigation menu:

  • Cylinder Compression Test
  • Cylinder Balancing
  • Injector Cut-out (Manual selection of cylinders)

Just make sure you are connected to the vehicle and the engine is at operating temperature for the most accurate results. Since this is the 2025 APCI kit, it covers the newer common rail systems as well.
