Here is a working and easy-to-install cracked version of WinOLS 4.7.. The main advantage of this build is that it does not require a virtual machine (VM) and there is no need to change the system date to run it.

This is the latest corrected version from 2024 that I was able to find.

Which Windows version is recommended?

Heads up for those installing this:

If you are moving from version 2.24 to 4.70, remember that the project file structure is different. Once you upgrade your EVC database, you cannot easily go back to older versions.

Also, for this release to remain stable, you absolutely must block internet access to the executable, or it will eventually gray out the "Export File" function.

For anyone else setting this up, remember that WinOLS 4.7 can be picky about checksum plugins. If the checksum search is greyed out or fails, verify your DLL path.

You might need to manually copy the ols_crc_*.dll files to:

C:\Program Files (x86)\EVC\WinOLS\dlls

Also, always start the software via the loader as Administrator, otherwise it might crash on startup.

One final tip regarding usability:

Since you must run the loader as Administrator, you will notice that Drag & Drop (dragging a file from your Desktop into WinOLS) stops working. This is a standard Windows security feature preventing interaction between non-admin and admin processes.

To load your files, you must use:

The Project > Import menu
Or the Open button inside the interface

Don't reinstall thinking it's a bug; it's just a side effect of the required permissions.

Make sure you disable automatic updates immediately. If the software updates itself to a newer retail version, the loader will stop working and you will likely have to clean your registry to reinstall version 4.7.

Check if you have clicked the Thanks or Like button on the first post. Usually, the attachment links are hidden until you do that.

Make sure to run the software through the provided loader or shortcut every time, not the original EVC_ols.exe, otherwise it might revert to the demo version or ask for a license key.

Also, it is highly recommended to exclude the installation folder from Windows Defender/Antivirus, as they often flag the loader as a false positive and delete it silently.

How to add an exclusion in Windows 10/11:

Go to Windows Security > Virus & threat protection.
Click Manage settings.
Scroll to Exclusions and click Add or remove exclusions.
Add the entire WinOLS folder.

Just a heads up regarding Drag & Drop: Since the loader usually requires Administrator privileges to inject the раtсh, you might find that you cannot drag files directly from Windows Explorer into the WinOLS window. This is a standard Windows security feature (preventing interaction between User-level and Admin-level processes).

If you encounter this, simply use the Project > Import menu (or Ctrl+I) to load your binary files instead.

This is a known minor bug in this specific release/раtсh. The toolbar buttons for navigation sometimes fail to respond or appear greyed out.

Please try using the keyboard shortcuts, they usually work fine even when the buttons don't:

F3 to go to the next difference.
Shift + F3 to go to the previous difference.

Also, make sure you have actually opened the comparison window correctly via Window > Differences / connect windows and that both files are aligned properly.

I see diffreneces using 2d mode, but connecting windows doesn't work properly: i can't scroll both windows toogether, aslo can't use tools like "Next Difference" "Last difference" etc. I also tried your advices, unfortunately it doesn't help. I've got an original WinOLS and WinOLS 4.51 VM version, that things work perfect on them both

If the keyboard shortcuts and standard menu options aren't working, then unfortunately, you are hitting the specific limitations of this cracked release.

The Connect Windows (synchronous scrolling) and the Difference navigation features are known to be broken or very unstable in this specific 4.70.01 loader version. The раtсh interferes with how WinOLS handles child window synchronization.

Since you mentioned you have the 4.51 VM version working perfectly:

Use 4.51 for comparing files and finding differences.
Use 4.70 only when you need newer checksum families or specific plugin features that aren't available in the older version.

There is currently no known configuration fix for the sync scrolling in this release; it's an issue with the executable modification itself.
