Windows XP Compatibility

Short answer — not officially supported, but it may partially work depending on your setup.

Here's the breakdown:

Will it run on XP?

The program itself (DiagunShow.exe) is a legacy Win32 application from the 2014 era, so the binary might launch on Windows XP SP3 (32-bit). However, the resource page lists supported systems starting from Windows 7 and up. XP is not mentioned, which means:

  • Some DLL dependencies (MwRuntime.dll, MwRes.dll, etc.) may require runtime libraries not present on XP
  • The FTDI USB driver version bundled (FTD2XX.dll / ftdi_d2xx.dll) may or may not have XP-compatible builds — newer FTDI drivers have dropped XP support
  • You could run into issues with .NET Framework or Visual C++ Redistributable versions that the modules expect

What needs to be installed before running it?

  1. FTDI USB drivers — required if your LAUNCH interface uses an FTDI-based USB connection. You would need to find an XP-compatible FTDI driver package (v2.12.x or older typically still supports XP). Check https://ftdichip.com/drivers/ for legacy versions.
  2. Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable — install both the 2008 and 2010 (x86) packages, as legacy LAUNCH tools from this era commonly depend on them.
  3. .NET Framework 3.5 / 4.0 — some helper modules may require it. On XP, .NET 4.0 is the maximum supported version.
  4. Administrator rights — run DiagunShow.exe as Administrator.

My recommendation:

If you have the option, use Windows 7 (32-bit) instead — it is the closest lightweight OS that is officially supported and will give you the least trouble with drivers and dependencies. If you're stuck on XP, try it, but be prepared for possible driver or runtime issues. Extract to a short path like C:\X431\ and test.

What LAUNCH interface hardware are you using? That will help narrow down the exact driver you need.
