The Xentry shortcut disappearing after a reboot is a common issue, usually caused by one of these things:
1. Check if Xentry is still installed
Navigate to the installation folder (typically
Code:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Mercedes-Benz\Xentry\
or similar) and see if the files are still there. If yes, you can manually recreate the shortcut from the main .exe file.
2. ConfigAssist / StartCenter
Xentry often launches via StartCenter or ConfigAssist. Look for these in your Start Menu or installation directory:
Code:
ConfigAssist.exe
Code:
StartCenter.exe
3. Windows Defender / Antivirus removed files
This is the most common cause. After reboot, Windows Defender scans and quarantines cracked/patched files (especially FullFix components). Check:
Windows Security → Virus & threat protection → Protection history — look for quarantined items
If files were removed, restore them and add the entire Xentry installation folder + FullFix folder to your exclusion list before re-applying the fix
4. Re-apply FullFix after restoring
If Defender did remove patched files, you'll need to:
Disable Windows Defender real-time protection
Add exclusions for the Xentry folder
Re-run FullFixBySamik 4.8.6
Then reboot and verify
Most likely it's the antivirus issue — check your protection history first and report back what you find.
